Sassy

Sassy one of our crazy cats, has found the wonder that is a moving snake in a tank.
she will sit happily on my bed watching Sparky and the kids in there vivs
Boots on the other hand runs away when i bring them down. Last month Boots met JD and got very spooked out by him. now he wont play with his string. (Crazy cats!!)

New viv

JD's early bday present (not till February) was a bigger tank for him, new bachelor pad to call his own. I got it of Ebay for £60, 4ft long and 2ft wide. nice big house for him.

as i am short of funds being Xmas, i will get him some new furniture in the new year. he needs a new cave and plants to make his house a bit more attractive.

Sparky has now moved into JD's old place with the kids.

The kids are in there own small tub house and growing bigger by the day.

Brumination

Last week i turned of the light to Angel and JD's Viv's. This is step 1 of there brumination.
Next week i am going to pull the plug on the heating as well. I will then keep them as cool as possible untill mid febuary when i can turn on the heat and slowly wake them up with lots of light.

Thats the plan anyway.

I accidentally woke Angel up changing her water and got a nasty nip on my hand. (wont be doing that again in a hurry.)

Brumination

Hey hey, its been a while.
Update-
Quicksilver and Indiana are doing fine, eating well and shedding.
Sparky celebrated his 1st birthday on 18th of november, had the little guy a year now, he is not so little anymore, but still has a long way to go untill he is the size of Angel.
JD is doing really well, being a typical male and spends most of his time sleeping in his log.
Angel has put the weight she lost when she had her babies and is now ready for Brumination.

Brumination is a Herp word for hibernation.

So i have started to turn the lights off until the middle of december when i switch the heat off to.
This helps make the snakes feel that its winter and will hibernate.
This process make them more fertile for next years breeding season.
After a few months i will turn the heat and lights on.
feed them up and start breeding again.

All done hatching

All my eggs have hatched.
There are 4 baby snakes in total.

2 Anery &
2 Normals

The 5th egg never hatched, it was a bit black and mouldy. which is odd as one of the baby snakes hatched from a black egg. have to keep an eye on him.

I am keeping 2 of them and the serpentarium is keeping the other 2.

The little guys or girls are coming home on tuesday.

will post pics.

Hatching

The big day has arrived.
The snakes are starting to hatch!!

A couple of the eggs have split, and a head has popped out.

I will give them a couple of days to emerge fully before taking pictures.

Its best to leave them alone when they start emerging from there eggs, dont want to scare them.
